Palace hero says Warnock style didn't suit players

Former Crystal Palace striker Clinton Morrison feels Neil Warnock's style didn't suit the players.

Warnock was sacked yesterday.

"I looked on my Twitter and someone asked if I could be the next Palace manager," Morrison told the Croydon Advertiser.

"I think maybe it has been coming recently but I didn't think Palace would be a club who would sack managers so quick, especially around this Christmas period.

"Neil is different to other people. He will try and motivate you, and he will rant and rave at you when things aren't going right.

"He likes people to work hard in his team. It's not attractive or pretty football which most people like to play but it is effective most of the time.

"I know players don't like to talk about the dressing room. But I don't think any of the players go on the pitch not trying to play for their manager. It hasn't worked.

"They are mostly the players who were there last season and played under Tony Pulis.

"And the fans like the team to play football but it's about the results.

"They'll take three points however they get them to stay in the Premier League."
