Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock has cooled reports of Steve Round joining the club.
The former Everton and Manchester United No2 has been linked with Palace this week.
"I saw the rumours and I don't know where that's come from. There is no truth in it at all," he told the Croydon Advertiser.
"If somebody became available who I think could help us then yes, but there is nothing in it with Steve.
"I know him and he wants to be manager himself now. That's why he didn't go with David Moyes to Real Sociedad.
"I believe he wants to start lower down in the divisions."
