Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock is preparing a bid for Sunderland defender Greg Halford.

Warnock is a long-time fan of the former Colchester full-back, having made repeated attempts to sign him for former club Sheffield United before Halford moved on to Reading and then Sunderland.

Now a bid from Selhurst Park is on the agenda.
