Pacheta proud taking Villarreal job: I'm a quick learner

Pacheta is delighted taking the Villarreal job.

The former Real Valladolid was presented to local media today after his weekend appointment.

Pacheta succeeds Quique Setien after his dismissal last week.

He said, “Don't have doubts. I have never coached a team that plays in Europe. I don't have experience in Europe, but I'll pick it up quickly. I also had no experience in promotions and I have achieved them.

"The experience is coming. I join an important team, with a president who has been in office for many years and who has stability. Model club, healthy and very close. I demand ambition from myself and the club does too. If ambition is controlled, it is one of the best virtues of the human being.

“It is a great pride that Villarreal bet on me, that they give me this opportunity. We come with baggage in the world of football. I have a game and group management model very similar to Villarreal. It's the best team we've coached, but I'm convinced we're going to handle this. If I don't see myself qualified, I won't come."

He also said: “We are going to play within the model that the club wants. We have to be tough, but the players have to enjoy themselves. That enjoyment is not at odds with commitment and work. We will always work from the group, highlighting individualities, but always starting from the group."
