Michael Owen has hailed Liverpool's teenage sensation Ben Woodburn following his record-breaking feat.
Liverpool progressed into the semi-finals of the EFL Cup with a 2-0 win over Leeds United at Anfield on Tuesday night and apart from the fine victory, the match was notable due to the fact that 17-year-old Woodburn became the youngest ever player to find the back of the net for the Reds.
In doing so, Woodburn managed to claim the 19-year record from Kop hero Owen and following the game, the Liverpool legend took to Twitter to congratulate the teenager on his fantastic achievement.
Another record taken from me!!! Congratulations @BenWoodburn on becoming the youngest ever scorer for @LFC at 17yrs and 45days. #KopEnd
