Departing Aston Villa caretaker Kevin MacDonald admits he was very disappointed after his side lost his final game in charge.
MacDonald was overseeing Villa for the last time against Stoke City on Monday and it ended in the cruellest of ways with Potters defender Robert Huth grabbing a late winner to deny the visitors a point at the Britannia Stadium.
MacDonald admitted his side had plenty of chances but was very disappointed with the result.
"Maybe. We still had chances in the second half as well. I thought we played some good football so we are disappointed to have lost 2-1," he told Sky Sports.
"We are always confident, the way we try to play. We always feel we will get chances, but we were playing against Stoke City, who are a very difficult team to beat.
"We never shirked anything. We showed that we are as good as they are at defending properly. We ended up being unlucky. It was a decent game, a close game, and whether we deserved to win or they deserved to win, I'm not sure."
