Former AC Milan and Real Madrid star Kaka has been revealed as Major League Soccer's highest paid player.
The 33-year-old Brazilian earns $6.6million a season playing for Orlando City SC, according to data released by the MLS Players Union on Monday.
Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is second on the list, earning $6.2million at David Beckham's former team LA Galaxy.
Other well-paid international stars in the United States and Canada's top flight include Frank Lampard ($6million), David Villa ($5.61million) Sebastian Giovinco ($5.6million), Robbie Keane ($4.5million) and Giovani Dos Santos ($4million).
Surprisingly former Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo ($2million) and Chelsea legend Didier Drogba ($1.6million) do not feature among the league's top 10 highest earners.
The best-paid American players in the MLS are Toronto FC midfielder Michael Bradley ($6million) and Seattle Sounders forward Clint Dempsey ($3.9million).
