Chelsea summer signing Oriol Romeu admits Andre Villas-Boas has been following him since he was in charge of Porto.
Romeu joined Chelsea in the summer from Barcelona.
"I learned that Villas-Boas was interested in me when he was at Porto," said Romeu.
"He wants me to cover for the injury of (Michael) Essien. I guess I will play in that position and he expects me to get better with time and with minutes you gain confidence."
Romeu added: "The player who impressed me most is (John) Terry. By his nature, his leadership, he's like a very sensible uncle. I am not surprised he's a captain."
