Nedum Onuoha was pleased with Sunderland's point against Fulham.
Onuoha had a busy afternoon as Fulham pressed in vain for a winning goal as Sunderland held firm for a point.
"We came here aiming to win the game but I suppose a point away in the Premier League isn't a bad result," he told safc.com.
"I wasn't really expecting to go in at centre-half but thankfully I adapted and playing alongside the players I did helped me a lot.
"John [Mensah] helped me a lot. When you get the chance to play alongside people like him you want to make the most of it and I think I did that today.
"Fulham were desperate for a win but everyone is in this league. Easy games are very rare and that was shown today."
