Oldham captain Reuben Hazell believes boss Paul Dickov is transmitting his enthusiasm as a player to his squad at Boundary Park. Former Arsenal, Manchester City and Scotland striker was renowned for his fierce competitiveness and has instilled a similar steely determination into the Latics since his summer appointment.
Saturday's 1-0 home win over Huddersfield lifted Dickov's men to 11th in npower League One and maintained their unbeaten home record.
Hazell said: "You can see the manager in us. He wants us closing down from the front like he did as a player.
"We have the self-belief to achieve something this season. The manager has come in, without really changing the playing squad so much, and got us working hard for each other."
