The 20-year-old is set to arrive at the Caledonian Stadium on Monday after being released by the Old Trafford club this summer.
Evans failed to make any first-team appearances but impressed for the reserves and could now win himself a deal with the Highland club.
Manager Craig Brewster said: "The plan is to have a look at the boy for a week and, at the same time, he can see what we are all about up here.
"He was recommended to us at the same time as Michael Barnes and is part of the Welsh under-21 squad.
"I spoke with Sir Alex Ferguson about him and he thought the boy has a chance of making the grade."
