Ogbonna in awe of West Ham character after crucial comeback victory over West Brom

Angelo Ogbonna and Michail Antonio scored late goals to help West Ham claim a 3-1 win over West Bromwich Albion.

The victory puts West Ham into sixth on the table on 62 points, three ahead of Tottenham, which means they will play Europa League football if they can hold their position on the final day of the season.

But it wasn't smooth sailing for the Hammers after Matheus Pereira had put the Baggies ahead when his corner went straight into the net.

Tomas Soucek equalised on the stroke of half-time before Hammers defender Ogbonna came to the rescue by heading home from a corner.

Michail Antonio then made no doubts about the win with a goal two minutes from time.

The Hammers host Southampton in their Premier League finale on Sunday while Tottenham are at fifth-placed Leicester.

"We showed West Ham's character," Ogbonna said after the game.

"It was a fantastic game. We knew this game could be really dangerous for us but we stuck at it and got the win.

"I wasn't really concentrating on Tottenham's result because we had to do our game and then see what we can achieve. We showed our character.

"I can't wait to see our fans. Without fans football is nothing. We are not really concentrating on the position but the performance. Hopefully we get the three points and we will see what we can achieve."
