Barcelona are making their club magazine, Revista Barça, available digitally for the first time, reports www.sportspromedia.com/.

Distributed to club members, the La Liga outfit have released a free app for smartphones and tablets on the Google Android and Apple iOS platforms to deliver the magazine's digital edition in Catalan or Spanish.

The first edition of Revista Barça made available on the platform is issue 97 featuring goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen as the cover star. Whilst the physical magazine will still be sent out via post, Barcelona are also bidding to tap into increasing digital content consumption habits by hosting the magazine on a new dedicated app.

The digital edition of Revista Barça will include the majority of the content from the print edition but will be adapted for interactive presentation with photo galleries, videos, visual effects and infographics.

Access is granted via gated membership which requires a club membership number and a personal pin.

'The final goal has been to evolve the publication to bring it even closer to the partner and make more comfortable the consumption of its contents,' said the club in a statement on their website.
