Peter Odemwingie is delighted Marc-Antoine Fortune is staying with West Bromwich Albion.
Odemwingie believes Albion's decision to take up the one-year option on Marc-Antoine Fortune's contract is just reward for his striker partner after a spectacular return to form.
"Marco really disturbs the opposition defence and he really helps the team a lot," Odemwingie told the Albion website.
"Not only that, his quality of keeping the ball and holding it up creates space for others and there are things that he does for the team that people won't see with the ordinary eye.
"Thankfully the way that the fans applaud him at the end of every game meant that they did see the work he was doing and realised his contribution was massive for the team, so I am happy that people saw that.
"He didn't score as many goals as Shane and myself but he was really helpful and he showed character, and he is an example to all players.
"He was sent on loan for some time and he is an example that you should always be positive and keep going in difficult times."
