OB coach Krogh recalls visiting Arsenal and Arteta: An exciting approach to the game

OB coach Soren Krogh says a visit to Arsenal and spending time with manager Mikel Arteta has had a big influence.

Krogh says he now uses what he learned in his work at OB.

He recalled to Bold: "There is a Mikel Arteta in Arsenal, whom I visited for a few days and was close to him. Obviously, I like such a good culture and healthy players with a strong mentality and with an awareness of the importance of being part of a squad where everyone has value.

"Hopefully it will also happen here, where we get together a bunch of players who, in the long run, understand what it means to be part of a team.

Krogh is now taking directly from Arteta's philosophy.

"It's inspired by Arsenal, which is also a good example of a coach who didn't win that many games in the first year he was there, but got things together and got a culture laid down over the team that has made them into championship contenders for two or three consecutive years.

"Arteta has an exciting approach to the game, where it is more about the positions that do it and not so much the players. Arsenal play very dynamically and flexibly. It therefore doesn't matter much whether a left back is inside the midfield or a back on the edge.

"Things can easily work out with a good mentality and good character from these boys in OB, so that they are not so fixated on their own abilities. I also want players who are not like he can only play left wing or 9s. I am a big fan of flexibility."
