New York Red Bulls head coach Hans Backe expects Tim Ream's mooted transfer to Bolton Wanderers to be completed this month.
The 24-year old defender is set to join the Trotters with just a work permit holding up the move and Backe has confirmed that he does not expect Ream back in New York for the 2012 MLS season.
"(We don't know) yet. We're still waiting,'' said Back. "No, I think it will be finalized before the end of January with Ream.''
Backe, however, did say the club would wait until it the transfer has gone through before moving for any replacements.
"We know the number on the allocation we will get, so that will help us a lot, for sure,'' he added. "We have to wait a little bit so we get that confirmed that he got his work permit before we do any stupid things.''
