New York City FC have completed the signing of USA international Mix Diskerud.
The 24-year old midfielder has joined the MLS expansion franchise following the expiration of his contract with Norwegian club Rosenborg at the end of December.
NYCFC have landed Diskerud on a free transfer, using their number one position in the Allocation Ranking ahead of the 2015 season.
Upon signing the deal with New York, Diskerud spoke highly of his dealings with City and was thrilled to be making the 'Big Apple' his new home.
"New York City FC have made my wish as an American a reality by giving me the opportunity to play and live in the US," he told the club's official website.
"Everybody I have spoken to on the men's national team about (head coach) Jason Kreis has spoken highly of him to me. I felt exactly the same way after meeting him. I'm sure he will help me to develop my game, to succeed with our team here in New York and to stay involved with the national team.
"Coming to play for New York City FC was an easy decision for me."
Former Stabaek man Diskerud, who has played 25 times for the US, joins New York City after spending the past two-and-a-half years at Rosenborg where he made close to 80 appearances.
