New York Cosmos have signed former Columbus Crew midfielder Danny Szetela.
The 26-year old is on the comeback from a bout of knee injuries and has been given the opportunity to get his career back on track by the Cosmos.
"This is a great opportunity to join such a historic club and get back in the game," said Szetela.
"I've been hungry for the game and I love being back out there every day. The Cosmos are giving me a chance and I'm grateful to the coaching staff for that. I want to help on the field in any way I can."
Following his time with the Crew between 2004 and 2007, Szetela moved to Spanish side Racing Santander, where he had a loan spell in Italy with Brescia, prior to his 2009 shift to DC United. He sustained knee injuries in 2011 and has been on the road to recovery ever since.
