David Nugent is confident of scoring goals for Portsmouth in the Premiership.
But the 22-year-old admitted his belief took a hit after going five pre-season games without scoring.
Nugent told the Portsmouth News: "It was nice to get a goal, eventually! Confidence was a bit low. It doesn't matter how they come or who they are against, it was just nice to start scoring again.
"But I always know I will get goals so I can't wait for the season to start. I haven't set myself any targets yet.
"But no doubt I will once the season kicks off, so I'll let everyone know then.
"My best so far was 22 when I was at Preston, and I would be delighted to get anywhere near that. I'm ready for the challenge."
