Nth Qld's Brockie could be back in eight weeks

North Queensland Fury midfielder Jeremy Brockie could be back playing in eight to ten weeks after breaking his leg on the weekend.

The 22-year old New Zealand international sustained the injury in Saturday's 1-1 draw with the Brisbane Roar at Dairy Farmers Stadium but has been told he could be back in action sooner than first expected.

Brockie is confident that with surgery and a rehabilitation program will get him back to full fitness in time for the World Cup in South Africa which kicks off in June.

Although Brockie was not in the squad for the All Whites' World Cup qualification matches against Bahrain late last year, he hopes to push for selection for Ricki Herbert's squad once he gets over his injury.
