Notts County chairman dreams of a Nottingham derby in the Premier League

Notts County executive chairman Peter Trembling is desperate for the two teams of Nottingham to meet in the Premier League. Nottingham Forest look like they could challenge for promotion in the Championship this season, and County expecting to do likewise in League Two before setting their sights on premier league football within five years.

"Forest should be in the top flight, but Notts should be in the top flight with them. Why not have two big, famous clubs playing in the top flight together? That would be fantastic," Trembling told the Nottingham Post. "I think that is what would be best for this football club. If you have one club doing well and another on the way down, it doesn't work as well. You want the two clubs to be competing.

"It would be good for the city if Notts County and Forest go up this season. For the city it would be fantastic and for East Midlands football as well."
