Nottingham Forest manager Cooper confirms Marinakis meeting

Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper held talks with owner Evangelos Marinakis recently.

The Forest coach knows that he is under pressure to keep the club in the Premier League.

The newly promoted side have invested £160 million on 30 players since the summer transfer window opened.

“I speak to the owner regularly," said Cooper to reporters.

“I met him in London last Tuesday which is not abnormal, it's something that happens.

“Not every week but more than occasional and it was a normal meeting in terms of how it went.

“(Sporting director) Filippo Giraldi was there as well and we were discussing the normal things around the team, around the club and all with the objective of how we can do well in the next games. Nothing out of the ordinary.

“I see the owner on match days when he's at games but we've just got to try to win.

“Regardless of whatever else is being talked about we can't come away from the fact that the most important thing for me is being at our best in terms of preparation for Leeds. If I'm focusing on anything else then I'm not doing my job."
