Nottingham Forest are in talks with Nice for Kasper Schmeichel.
The former Leicester City captain is available from Nice after a season in France.
Schmeichel favours a return to England with talks now underway between the two clubs, says Eurosport.
Forest boss Steve Cooper sees the Dane as his new No1 after losing last season's loan pair Keylor Navas (PSG) and Dean Henderson (Manchester United) this summer.
Forest are also in talks with former Brighton keeper Mat Ryan about a backup role. Ryan is currently with AZ Alkmaar.
