Manchester City are only prepared to let keeper Shay Given leave once they have found a replacement. With Joe Hart in possession of the number one berth Given has cut a frustrated figure at City and has made no secret of wanting away for regular first team football.
The Republic of Ireland international has been told by boss Roberto Mancini there will be no goings until a keeper replacement is found.
"We can't take the same risk as last season," the Italian told The Guardian.
"We have seen two or three [possible options] but Shay doesn't decide this situation.
"I have talked about this with Shay and he told me that, if we have a chance to take another goalkeeper [he would like to go]... but finding a goalkeeper like Shay?"
