Celtic striker Gary Hooper has turned down a new contract offer.

Norwich City's initial bid last Thursday, reported to be in the region of £5million, was rebuffed by the Scottish champions, with Hoops boss Neil Lennon later claiming it was "nowhere near our valuation of the player".

However, Norwich remain keen to sign the Englishman, who scored twice at the weekend to take his season tally to 20 goals, and it's believed they upped their offer on Monday only for it to be snubbed again.

A source close to the player told Sportinglife: "Gary does not want to sign what has been offered as it's not on a par with the club's highest earners.

"Gary has never made any secret of his desire to play in the Premier League and this may now happen sooner than expected."
