Murray has much more work ahead of him over the coming months than his Palace team-mates, after a cruciate knee ligament injury suffered in the Championship play-off semi-finals ruled him out until December.
“I’m sure Glenn is absolutely delighted and hopefully he’ll get back from his recovery quickly and I’ll see him on the pitch,” Holt told the Pink 'Un.
“I know where I’ve come from but to look at Glenn, who’s five months away from playing in the best league in the world, I’m excited for him and in my opinion he’ll do very well when he’s in it.
“I’m lucky enough to know it is hard to do this progression when you’re that little bit older. And when you do that, you do the work and then get that reward when you go to places like Old Trafford, all those lads will love it.”
