Norwich City boss Chris Hughton is hoping Gary Hooper has avoided serious injury after being forced off during the friendly against Panathinaikos.
Hooper twisted awkwardly early in the second period after trying to roll Pana defender Gordon Schildenfend and the ex-Celtic striker was immediately replaced by Elliott Bennett after treatment pitchside by City's medical staff.
"Let's wait and see," Hughton told the Pink 'Un. "What he has done is gone to hospital for a precautionary scan and an X-ray. He took a bang on the side of his shin. I was very close to the incident at the time so I had a good view of it. I could tell it was going to be a sore one.
"We are hoping it is going to be okay and that in effect all it is, is an injury that is painful for a little while. I think it was more an awkward challenge than a bad one. I haven't seen it back on the replay but in game-time it looked a clumsy challenge. I did see the lad catch him but as I say we hope it is a whack and he will be okay."
