North Queensland Fury youngster Osama Malik says he is surprised to be in camp with the Young Socceroos squad.
The 18-year old Adelaide-born winger was selected for the U20s squad to travel to Argentina for a tournament as a lead-up to the U20 World Cup in Egypt in September.
''It was a bit unexpected. I went to a camp earlier in the year and I hadn't really heard anything, so when the coach told me in Perth that I made it, it was shock,'' Malik said from camp in Sydney.
''I was even shocked when I was (invited into the preliminary 30-man squad in March) because I have never made any representative sides in my life since I was 13 or 14."
Malik said he doesn't expect to play much for the Young Socceroos but will do his best whatever happens.
''It's probably good in a way, because it's not too much pressure on me,'' he added.
''I'm going to go in there with no pressure and no expectation, which is usually a good thing, because you don't want to be getting too over-awed by the occasion.''
