Agent Giovanni Branchini claims Fiorentina shot-stopper Sebastien Frey is not close to swapping Serie A for the Premiership and states Aston Villa have not made an approach for him. Arsenal were linked with the Frenchman, and Villa were also reportedly keen after reports claimed he would leave Italy following the arrival of Artur Boruc from Celtic.
"Aston Villa have never spoken with Fiorentina. I think lots of people have fun saying rumours," Branchini told Violanews.com.
"Frey will stay in Florence regardless of everything and everyone. I think he has also shown his love for the city and Fiorentina."
