No Tottenham move for Bolton's Cahill…or Kaka - Redknapp

Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill and Real Madrid star Kaka will not be moving to Tottenham Hotspur according to Harry Redknapp. The Spurs boss told Sky Sports News tonight that the club did indeed try to sign the 25-year old England international but they could not get a deal done.

"We've been trying to sign Gary Cahill but we couldn't get there in the end. We've been trying all day, Daniel (Levy, Spurs chairman) has been trying hard but we just couldn't make it happen," he said.

And Redknapp ended any speculation that the North London club were looking to bring in Real Madrid's Kaka after reports suggested there could be a late push for the Brazilian star.

"That (Cahill) was the only big one we tried to do today but we couldn't quite it over the line," he added.
