No England escape clause in Hodgson Liverpool contract

Roy Hodgson's Liverpool contract will not carry any England escape clause.

The Sun says Hodgson, 62, has agreed a two-year deal to take over as Liverpool chief.

Fulham will get more than £2million in compensation from the Reds.

All that remains are the personal terms of his Craven Cottage exit - namely bonuses he feels he is entitled to after last season's stunning campaign - and he will then step into the Kop hotseat.

Liverpool fans can rest easy that he will not be staging a quick walkout to become national boss should Fabio Capello get the bullet in two weeks.

Hodgson is still among the favourites to be the next permanent England chief despite his Merseyside commitments.

Yet his Anfield contract contains NO small print that could see him take over from Capello should the Italian be given the axe by Sir Dave Richards.
