Nigeria chiefs are stepping up their bid to cap Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha.

The Mirror says after the Super Eagles' 2-2 draw against Tunisia, which put a dent in their World Cup qualification bid, Nigeria chiefs immediately resolved to go all out to persuade Onuoha to join them.

Amodu said: "We have sent word to Nedum to see if he will be interested. We will get new players but first we have to qualify (for the World Cup finals)."
