Newcastle United youngster Liam Gibson is a target for Accrington Stanley.

The League One club are hoping to sign him on loan for the second half of the season.

Gibson is out of contract in the summer and wants to get regular football so he can prove his quality.

The 21-year-old left back has struggled with ulcerative colitis in the past year, which hampered his development.

If he impresses at Stanley, they will try to sign him permanently when his contract at Newcastle is up.
