Newcastle United remain keen on West Ham United defender James Tomkins.
The Journal says a move for West Ham's England under-21 defender Tomkins could be resurrected - just a few weeks after the club had a £2.5million offer for the centre-back rejected out of hand by the Upton Park club.
Tomkins has changed management and that may affect his situation.
He is in the throes of negotiating a new deal with West Ham and is also close to club skipper Kevin Nolan, who is a former Newcastle captain.
