Newcastle will enjoy break in wake of big defeat says Simpson

Danny Simpson insists this weekend's break has come at a perfect time for Newcastle United after last weekend's 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Tottenham.

The Magpies will play no part in the FA Cup fifth round this weekend after falling to Brighton & Hove Albion in the previous stage and right-back Simpson says it will be good to relax in a bid to get over the disappointing performance at White Hart Lane on Saturday.

"Sometimes you just want to play as soon as you can and get a win under your belt to bounce back," he told the club's official website.

"But at the same time, we've got a break and it's been a long, tough season up to now.

"We've done well, and this will give us the chance to refresh ourselves, recharge our batteries and get ready for Wolves (on February 25)."
