Recent reports are suggesting that Newcastle United are close to completing a deal for Freiburg striker Papiss Cisse.
The 26-year old Senegal international has netted over 30 Bundesliga goals in the past season-and-a-half and has attracted plenty of interest from the likes of Sunderland, Arsenal, Tottenham, Blackburn Rovers and Aston Villa but Sky Sports suggest that the Magpies are at the head of the queue.
Cisse, who has been away with the Senegal national team alongside Toon ace Demba Ba, is set to travel to Newcastle this week to undergo a medical and finalise the mooted £10million deal before heading back to Africa for the Cup of Nations which kicks off this coming weekend.
