Newcastle United have a real chance at signing Liverpool defender Ozan Kabak, if they stump up £18 million.
The Turkish star was on loan with the Reds for the second half of the season, when Newcastle were also interested in securing his services.
Per Chronicle Live, Kabak is unlikely to sign with Liverpooll permanently, especially after they secured Ibrahima Konate.
His parent club Schalke 04 are now in the second division of German football after relegation from the Bundesliga.
So long as the Magpies agree to pay Schalke's asking price this summer, or commit to a loan with an obligation to buy for the same fee, they could secure the defender.
