FC Twente midfielder Cheick Tiote has emerged as a key target for Newcastle United.
The 24-year old Ivory Coast international has already been courted by West Bromwich Albion who offered £3million for his services but the Magpies have now shown their interest by tabling an bid of their own.
Reports suggest that Toon boss Chris Hughton is leading the race for Tiote's signature but it is yet to be seen where the former Anderlecht and Roda JC man will end up.
