Newcastle United are preparing a summer move for Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster.

The Sunday Mirror says United boss Sir Alex Ferguson does not want to sell the 26-year-old, despite him being third choice behind Edwin van der Sar and Tomasz Kuzczak.

Ferguson is toying with the idea of letting Foster go out on loan next season, but any deal is reliant on Newcastle staying in the top flight.
