Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is weighing up cashing in on Jermain Defoe this summer.
The England striker has struggled for form and fitness this season and Redknapp needs to sell to boost his own transfer plans.
The Daily Express says Northeast rivals Newcastle United and Sunderland will battle it out in the summer to sign Defoe.
Both clubs are in the market for striker signings and Defoe fits the bill.
