Newcastle United are keen on Borussia Monchengladbach striker Luuk de Jong.
The Daily Star Sunday says De Jong is still being monitored by Newcastle, who failed to land the Netherlands international before he quit FC Twente in a £12m deal around 18 months ago.
De Jong, 23, is out of favour at Borussia - and has arranged showdown talks over his future.
That means he could be available on loan, although Stoke City are also interested.
