Newcastle United are planning to trump Fulham for Rafik Halliche.
The Daily Mail says Newcastle are ready to thwart Fulham's bid for Algerian defender Halliche.
The 23-year-old is due at Fulham for a medical and to train before a £1.3m move from Benfica.
However, Newcastle, who have concerns over Steven Taylor, have made late enquiries.
