Newcastle United defender Jose Enrique says the appointment of Alan Shearer as interim manager has instilled confidence in the playing group.
The former Magpies strike star will be at the helm at St James' Park until the end of the season and Enrique believes his presence in just a short time has the players excited.
"We have confidence now, and we think, with him in charge, we can win games," said Enrique.
"From the first three days, the impression is good.
"He scored more goals than anyone in the Premier League.
"He was a very good player, and I think he can be a very good manager.
"We're not thinking about the Championship.
"We have very good players, and we will go to Stoke believing we can win the game."
