Newcastle United remain keen on Krasnodar attacker Viktor Claesson.
The Sweden international attracted enquiries from Newcastle over the summer, however ultimately a deal couldn't be done.
But Claesson remains on Newcastle's radar and the Evening Chronicle says a January move is now being discussed.
The 25 year-old only left Elborg for Krasnodar in January, but his influence on the Russians has impressed Toon scouts.
Newcastle are also planning to make Mikel Merino's loan with Borussia Dortmund a permanent deal.
