Sylvain Marveaux and Gabriel Obertan are no longer Newcastle United players.
The Evening Chronicle says they are understood to have released French pair Marveaux and Obertan.
The duo are believed to have been told they can leave the club early as the Magpies focus on survival with neither player likely to be fit for the remaining handful of games.
Former Rennes man Marveaux had already been written off by former boss Steve McClaren, who felt the player was unable to offer him anything during Newcastle's relegation battle.
Obertan's season had started with hope after McClaren used him in six fixtures before he picked up a hamstring injury in the first half of the campaign.
