Newcastle United senior players turned on manager Alan Pardew after defeat to Stoke City.
The Evening Chronicle says some senior players wanted to know why Hatem Ben Arfa found himself back in the team so quickly following the dressing room bust-up between Pardew and the Frenchman against Manchester United.
It is believed that some players felt Ben Arfa should be dropped for his vocal outburst last week only for Pardew to name the ex-Lyon and Marseille ace on his team sheet and hand him a 17-minute run-out.
