Newcastle plan new keeper signing; Kepa and Henderson top shopping list

Newcastle are ready to splash out on a new goalkeeper this summer.

The Daily Mail says Newcastle have drawn up a list of goalkeeper targets for the summer that includes Chelsea's Kepa Arrizabalaga and Manchester United's Dean Henderson.

Number one Martin Dubravka has been one of the club's most consistent performers but Newcastle want increased competition across key areas ahead of next season as they build their new project.

Newcastle made moves to sign United's England keeper Henderson in January on loan but the deal would have seen Dubravka go in the opposite direction and the 33-year-old Slovakian was reluctant to go as cover for David de Gea. Henderson remains keen on making the move after a frustrating season in De Gea's shadow but much could hinge on United's asking price.

Chelsea, meanwhile, would want to recoup as much of their record £71.6million outlay as possible for Arrizabalaga but it is understood Newcastle would ask for a loan deal as the 27-year-old is under contract until 2025.
