Newcastle United are still trying to sign Miguel Almiron from Atlanta United.
According to the Chronicle, the Magpies offered £16 million for the player, but it is around £7 million short of what the MLS club wants for his signature.
In fact, Atlanta have signed Pity Martinez and now have more designated players than they can keep in their squad.
So they will have to sell Almiron before the MLS season begins.
What is unclear is whether they will budge on their valuation. Almiron netted 22 goals and managed 30 assists for the team last term.
