Newcastle United boss Kevin Keegan wants to make Sol Campbell his first signing at St James Park.

Keegan wants Portsmouth's former Tottenham and Arsenal defender to help shore up Newcastle's leaky backline.

Campbell, who played under Keegan for England, is settled on the South Coast and is unlikely to move north at this stage of his career.

But the Sunday Express says Keegan could try to tempt Campbell away from Fratton Park with a lucrative offer.
