Longstaff has suffered an ankle injury.
He was hurt after a bad tackle by James Tarkowski at Everton. The challenge controversially did not lead to a penalty at Goodison despite a VAR review.
Ruled out of today's clash with Southampton, Longstaff's season could now be over, says ChronicleLive.
Longstaff has played 40 games this season, scoring three times.
